Bibian Mentel Playground, Loosdrecht, Netherlands

The very first Bibian Mentel Playground is located in Loosdrecht! In 2019 Ty and Jazz started a residents' initiative to bring a pump track in Loosdrecht. They collected more than 600 signatures with their campaign. Bibian Mentel, multiple Paralympic champion, read about the idea and was immediately enthusiastic. She joined the initiative with her Mentelity Foundation. Bibian passed away on March 29, 2021. The Mentelity Foundation wants to continue her dream and give everyone the opportunity to get the best out of themselves. Together with the municipality of Wijdemeren and the municipality of Hilversum, a location was found and the financial resources were collected. The first Bibian Mentel Playground is located practically in the backyard of Bibian's house and it is a place where children with and without physical disabilities can play together. The PumpTrack forms the center of this and is specially designed for driving with a wheelchair, there is a wallride for an extra challenge and there is also a kids track for PumpTrack riders to be. In short; an inclusive place for everyone!
