Wijk bij Duurstede, Netherlands

In the spring of 2019, the municipality of Wijk bij Duurstede commissioned the construction of an asphalt pump track with a length of exactly 100 meters.

When designing the asphalt pump track, we took into account the widest possible target group. Children from balance bike age (2 years) to young adults will find the new track challenging. It doesn't matter whether they ride a skateboard, BMX bike, mountain bike, inline skates, or scooter, because the pump track is suitable for all target groups. Because asphalt is used, this type of pump track requires much less maintenance than a traditional pump track or BMX track. In recent years, the special asphalt mixture has been developed into the ideal top layer and is applied by hand by our own experts. Moreover, pump tracks are also very safe for users and comply with the applicable European standards.

After completion, it quickly became clear that the playground had undergone a major upgrade. The pump track is the biggest attraction in the playground and attracts a wide variety of children, parents, and grandparents. Social control also means there is much less nuisance.

The PumpTrack has been so successful that we will be able to expand it with an extra loop in 2025. This will make the PumpTrack even more accessible to all ages and allow advanced riders and beginners to use the track at the same time.
